A former lode Au-Pb occurrence/mine located in sec. 33, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2 km SW of Grass Valley proper, at the county fairgrounds, on private (patented) land. The property comprises 15.41 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diabase. The ore body strikes N and dips 35W. The vein is 2 to 2½ feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 252.98 meters and an overall depth of 152.4 meters and comprised of an incline with 3 levels.
