A Mo-W (+ U ?) occurrence/group of claims/prospect located in sec. 19, T1S, R25E, MDM, 0.7 km (2,300 feet) SW of the Bennettville town site, NW of the N end of Tioga Lake (near Tioga Pass) (per MRDS file #10031472: near entrance to Yosemite Park at N end of Tioga Lake; claims extend into (sec.) 25, T1N/R24E), on National Forest land (located claim). Owned and operated by W. C Holding (100.00%) (1978). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

NOTE: MRDS database file #10031473 contains anomalous data regarding this locality. It presents data that this is a U occurrence (and only a U occurrence), which data are in conflict with all the other 4 files related to this occurrence. That file also states: "Holding & Hillen made application for DMEA loan.

NOTE: MRDS database file #10031472 presents a T&R value of sec. 19, T1N R25E, but describes the location of the occurrence to correspond to that of the other files (by coordinates and/or description) at the N end of Tioga Lake. All the other files present a T&R value of T1S; therefore the T&R value in file #10031472 is apparently in error.

Mineralization is a contact metamorphic Mo-W deposit hosted in skarn (tactite). Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 6 (Mono Lake).

Workings include surface openings and operations with an overall length of 213.36 meters and an overall width of 4.57 meters. They are comprised of a bulldozer trench and several prospect pits.

Analytical data results: 0.1 to 0.6% MoS2.

Promising W claims located here. Assays treported at 1.0% to 1.5% WO3 and 3 to 4% Mo. A Canadian company was to begin a drilling program in the spring of 1960.
