A W occurrence/mine/group of claims located in secs. 2 & 11, T3S, R19E, MDM, 2.8 km (9,200 feet) ENE of Trumbull Peak (coordinates of record) (3½ miles NW of El Portal), on National Forest land. Operated during the period 1954-1956. In 1957, the group was under lease to the Incline Mining Company, Lee Cumeo, L. Garriotto, et al of San Francisco. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body strikes N30W and dips 70NE. Some scheelite occurs in granodiorite which intrudes the limestone. An associated rock is hornblendite. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 45.72 meters. In 1954 the upper tunnel with several galleries striking N55E, was about 100 feet long. A second tunnel was driven SE about 65 feet below the main tunnel. It is about 50 feet long.
No production figures reported.
