A former W mine located in sec. 19, T19S, R41E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile/4,200 feet) E of Darwin. Operated in 1943. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Updated description, links and position N36.26877 W117.57772 by Richard Muster, courtesy Walt Margerum.

The rock in the mining area is calc-hornfels,limestone and quartz monzonite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of several short adits (mostly caved in), some raises and a longer adit of 370 feet, driven from the gully, plus a glory hole.

In 1940 Frank Watkins, C.W. Fletcher and others organized the Darwin Consolidated Tungsten Company. In 1941 E.L. Cord and others formed the Pacific Tungsten Company which leased 23 mining claims from the Darwin Consolidated Tungsten Company.

Some Scheelite was mined in the Toga mine in 1943 by Fletcher, still owner of this small mine.
