A former Ag-Cu-W mine located in secs. 10, 11, 15, 21 & 22, T21S, R45E, MDM, 0.3 km (0.2 mile) SSW of Panamint, along Surprise Canyon (10 miles NE of Ballarat), on National Park Service land (Death Valley National Park) (is/was private (patented) land). Property consists/consisted of at least 16 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with quartz veins 6 to 8 feet thick, hosted in limestone and schist. The ore body strikes NW and dips 60-70SW at a thickness of 2.44 meters. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 1 (Death Valley).
Workings include underground openings comprised of tunnels. The main crosscut tunnel is 2,300 feet long. The topo map reflects at least 4 shafts, 19 adits and 7 prospects for this mine group.
