A former lode Au mine located in sec. 29, T2N, R12E, MDM, 0.2 km (0.1 mile) SSE of Hodson (site) and 4.1 km (2.6 miles) WNW of Copperopolis, along Underwood Creek. Operated during the period 1947 to 1950. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in serpentinite and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE. The vein hanging wall is serpentine and mariposite and the footwall is Mariposa slate. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 9.14 meters and comprised of a shaft with a 26 foot crosscut to the vein, and with a 75 foot SE and 65 foot NW drifts.
