Granite pegmatite. Western Mount Apatite District. Smith Quarry is a small opening between the nearly overlapping Maine Feldspar Quarry and the Greenlaw Quarry. The locality name, Smith Quarry, has little significance and is only of interest to historians. The Smith "Quarry" is really nothing more than an excavation made by a set of a few dynamite blasts on the southern edge of the Greenlaw Quarry. Oxford Pegmatite Field.
