A former Cu occurrence/group of claims/prospect/mine located in the center sec. 15 (and sec. 29 ?), T1N, R16W, GSRM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) SE of Owl Head (arch) and about 5 miles NE of Ocotillo, on Federal Wildlife Service wilderness land (Kofa Wilderness; Kofa National Wildlife Refuge). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a Pliocene Cu deposit hosted in granite. Associated rocks include tuff and andesite. The ore body is irregular in form. Granite and basic dike rock are highly altered and numerous slip planes are exposed. Local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene volcanic rocks and/or Jurassic granitic rocks.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of shallow holes or short drifts.
