Ancient silver mines, dating back to the 16th century and worked intermittently until 1796, later mainly for lead and copper. Main ores were galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite, included in a N-S striking quartz vein of the Altlay vein system, hosted by Devonian schists. Several dumps remain around Annenberg. Due to considerable damage caused by some irresponsible individuals, collecting on the large dump in the forest southeast of the village is strictly prohibited now.

Coordinates are for the small settlement of Annenberg.
