Alteration: Yes
Deposit: Mr. Jack davis who lives at the mine (1984) reported that the ore was in narrow seams opening into pockets or vugs containing gold. Many of the seams are fracture-filling or veinlets, but others are clearly fault controlled and probably genetically related to the granites. Sample 2981 was from a newer exposed portion of the mine in what must be a minor vein system. A group of 7 claims owned by the defenbaughs in the 1930's. It was discovered in 1894 by robert denio, after which it was acquired by j. Cowden & assoc. Who organized the nevada king mining co., who built a mill, treated ore & did considerable development work. Development consisted of 7 adits (up to 490 ft. Geology: Veins are 2 to 6 feet wide; vein filling is altered andesite and quartz
