Alteration: Bleaching
Deposit: Spotty vein quartz occurs along a steep n10 W shear zone in probable metaandesite of the sonoma range fm. The vein quartz is white (milky) and contains (where not oxidized pyrite and arsenopyrite (?) the arsenopyrite (?) is common on one dump. The vein is probably less than 30 cm wide and the wall rocks are locally bleached near the vein. The mines were discovered in 1906 and worked intermittently until 1942. Development consists of scattered prospecting shafts, and open cuts. In 1934 ore mined at one lease averaged 2 1/2 oz/t au, 15 oz/t ag, and 8% pb. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ
Deposit type: Polymetallic veins
Development: Mines were worked intermittently from their discovery in 1906 to 1942. No activity at time of examination in 1984.
Geology: The ores consist of gold with some Ag and pb in nro W quartz veins in intrusive rock which has invaded the ordovician valmy formation.
