An U occurrence/prospect located in secs. 6 & 7, T25N, R24E, MDM.
Structure: Central Part Of Eugeosynclinal Portion Of Basin And Range Of Nevada. East Flank Of Nightingale Fault Block Mountain; Roof Pendant Of Auld Lang Syne Metasediments Which Strike N 10 E And Dip 50e. Basalt Domes Lie On Strike.

Alteration: Argillization Of Granodiorite Near Contact With Auld Lang Syne Remnant

Tectonics: Mobile Belt

Commodity: Too small in size to be economic

Deposit: A small roof pendant of quartzite near contact with granodiorite. The granodiorite is strongly weathered into gruss. The quartzite is highly fractured and has uranophane coatings on fractures within the small area. Uranophane and uraniferous hyaline opal are associated with intricate and complex limonite-filled easterly-trending fractures in a quartzite. High radioactivity is present along a 2-3 ft zone. A pegmatite dike crops out a few feet away. Highest grade is in a 1-1.5 ft zone. Fractures in quartzite show highest count of radioactivity, especially in a 6-inch zone on upper side of pendant and at base in granodiorite. Reductant was probably pyrite or marcasite. This record has been merged with m242702, which has been deleted. Discovery year: 1950's
