A former U-Mo occurrence/mine located in the NW¼SE¼ sec. 11, T27N, R10E, G&SRM, SSE of Cameron and E of Gray Mountain (town), in the USGS Wupatki NE quadrangle, 1.4 miles E of the Little Colorado River. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy form this locality is 100 meters
Mineralization is in lenses and pods hosted in mudstone and sandstone in a paleochannel trending NE. The ore body is 30.48 meters wide and 548.64 meters long. All ore bodies in the area are surrounded by light brown to yellowish-brown alteration halos which cut across the normal purple and grey beds of host rock types. Some Ore controls include possible fracturing at a slight angle to the paleochannel. The ore fills intraformational channels and scours within the upper 30 feet of the Shinarump Member and the lower 60 feet of the Petrified Forest Member of the Triassic Chinle Formation. The ore tends to occur in depressions along channels, and changes in channel direction, favoring more carbonaceous layers. Associated rocks include unconsolidated Pleistocene-Late Triassic clay and mud, volcanic ash and basalt. Montmorillonite clay was derived from volcanic ash. Mineralization occurs in scour and fill sediments of a ENE-trending channel in the Petrified Forest Member. Uraninite replaces cell walls and pyrite replaces cell centers in petrified logs. Gypsum coats secondary uranium minerals in fractures. Boltwoodite and cobalt minerals were identified. Same ore body as Ramco #22 and Ryan #2.Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation.
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open pit 70 feet deep, with over 800 drill holes.
Production was 22,642 tons @ 0.22% U3O8; 0.04% V2O5 (1956-1960).
