The mine also included Tan-yr-allt, and West Alltycrib from time to time in its history.It developed two main veins courseing east west.
The First recorded working was by Thomas Bushell who had interests in many other mines in mid-Wales. He developed the mine from 1630 to 1660.
In the 1720,s Alltycrib was being worked by The Company Of Mine Adventurers, and was again at work about 1750. The mine was reworked on a number of occasions in the 19th centry, being finally closed in 1914. With a total recored output of about 1800 tons of lead ore, silver was also produced from the lead ore.
There is a recored of fluorite being found at this mine, but this is probably incorrect.
