Sec 13 T11N R16E. Drift and shaft Iron mine located along the Niagria Escarpment. The mine is located 1 mile north of the town of Iron Ridge and a half a mile north-east of the village of Neda. The mine was active from Spring 1864 to June 1914, and produced hundreds of thousands of tons of iron ore. The Mine is now used as a bat hibernaculum, and is owned by the University of Wisconsin. Collecting inside or outside of the mine is not allowed, but you can visit the mine site with permission from the University of Wisconsin and/or the Wisconsin DNR.
