A former underground Cu-Au-Ag-Pb-Zn mine. Discovered 1895. Restarted 1947 and closed 1953. Produced 1907-1956. Owned by Fred Gibbs, Prescott, AZ. Claims extend into the SW¼ of sec. 34.
Mineralization is lens-shaped ore bodies comprised of about 20 feet of mineralized schist; stringers as much as 6 inches (15 cm) wide of compact pyritic ore containing other sulfides and with sulfides disseminated between the stringers (South shaft). Sparsely disseminated pyrite & chalcopyrite from a zone as much as 100 feet wide on the footwall (West) side of the main orebody. Alteration included chloritization and silicification.
Area structures include foliation that trends N5E and bedding that trends N10E.
Workings include an adit with connecting winzes; 2 shafts (North shaft at 200 feet deep and connects with a drift & footwall crosscut & 2 small, tightly-lagged stopes at the top of the drift. The South shaft is 183 feet deep and connects with a drift and crosscut. Produced 2,763 tons of ore (1907-1957).
