A former underground Au-Fe mine located in secs. 25 & 36, T9S, R19E, and in sec. 31, T9S, R20E, in Rattlesnake Canyon, about 2 miles North of the Powers Mine, 6 miles E of the Pinal County line, SE Galiuro Mountains, on National Forest land. Started in the early 20th. century.
Mineralization is rhyolite intruded by a few dikes of chocolate-brown colored andesite porphyry. A gold-bearing ledge 6.1 meters wide strikes NW and dips about 72º W. in conformity with the adjacent rhyolite. The ledge consists of granular quartz, traversed by scattered, irregular, thin veinlets of crystalline quartz. The veinlets are mineralized with gold-bearing pyrite.
Workings include short tunnels. Low-grade deposit.
