Lignite coalfield.
The primary structural features of the coal-bearing strata consist of broad, gentle folds and normal faults resulting from differential subsidence. The area is characterized by continental clastic rocks of the Early Cretaceous Huolinhe Formation, which is lithologically subdivided into six members: the Bottom Sandy Conglomerate, Lower Mudstone, Lower Coal-bearing, Upper Mudstone, Upper Coal-bearing, and Top Sandy Mudstone. The lower coal-bearing member is the main coal-bearing interval of the basin, containing thick coal seams with a cumulative minable thickness of over 70 m. The main mineable seams—the Nos. 11, 14, and 17 coal—have thicknesses of approximately 10.8 m, 21 m, and 7.8 m, respectively. Among these, the No. 14 coal is the most laterally extensive, thickest, and continuous major mineable seam in the study area, characterized by a stable stratigraphic position and regional continuity. The No. 11 coal has a relatively simple structure and stable thickness. The No. 17 coal occurs in the lower part of the lower coal-bearing member; it is slightly less continuous than the No. 14 coal and locally thins or pinches out due to changes in sedimentary microfacies.
