The first record of prospecting in the Tschudi area was in 1913, when a Mr. Hoepker pegged the land on farm Uris.
A Cu-Ag mine discovered in 1968, located approx 20 km west of Tsumeb. Has a 3 km strike zone at the contact between the Otavi and Mulden Group rocks and further mineralization at the base of the Mulden sandstone. The deposit is tabular and dips 30° to the northwest. By 1980 underground development commenced. In the early 1990s display-quality azurite specimens were collected (Cairncross, 1997).
