The Wanshoushan Formation (C1w) is a coal-bearing stratum in the Guangfeng Coal Mine with an average thickness of 145.42 m. This formation is mainly composed of gray-white fine sandstones and siltstones, dark-grey shales, dark limestones, and coal seams. The Wanshoushan Formation contains seven coal seams, C1 to C7, and C1 was the only minable seam. The thickness of the C1 coal in this study is 1.62 m. The roof and the floor of the C1 coal are gray black silty mudstone-siltstone and gray mudstone, respectively.
