Calcite vein on the west wall of Manganese Creek (outlet stream from Lake Manganese to Lake Fanny Hooe) on the north side of Lake Manganese. This vein is approximately 12 inches (ca. 30 cm) thick and lies at the base of the Copper Harbor Conglomerate, and is nearly conformable with bedding. Vein is predominantly calcite with small amounts of manganese minerals (braunite, pyrolusite, orientite). Small amounts of quartz are also present.
