Sombrerete contains ~7.3 vol% rounded or globular silicate inclusions located mainly at grain boundaries of the Fe,Ni metal host. In cut surfaces,
inclusions are ~1–10 mm in diameter (mainly ~2 mm), and have spacings from each other of >2 mm. Tiny cracklike features, possibly healed metal grain boundaries, extend between inclusions and may have once connected them.
