Structure: Monoclinal Low Westward Dip, About 30 Ft/Mi W.
Tectonics: Interior Basin; Deltaic Red Bed Margin
Commodity: Merritt and dott (1940) mention that two carloads of hand-picked ore were shipped to american smelting co., el paso, texas, which assayed at 27-55% cu, with some pb, u, co, ag, and au. They quoted an article from daily oklahoman, march 16, 1928.
Deposit: The shead localities are scattered over 6 different places in sec. 18, suggesting that the copper is scattered over a wide area. Grimes (1936), acre (1936), merritt and dott (1940), merritt and ham (1940), and merritt (1940) give details. Shead (1929) gives analyses. Branson, burwell, and chase (1955, p. 17) mention deposit.
Development: C.a. Merritt (1940, p. 4-5) mentions that several tons of ore were shipped from the mine. Merritt and dott (1940) quote daily oklahoman, march 16, 1928, that the ore assayed at 27-55% cu, with pb, u, au, ag, and co, reported by american smelting co., el paso, texas.
Geology: Most of the samples are in the lower 35 ft of the garber sandstone. This is the approximate depth that wolf ridge-teton exploration drilled. Loc. 212 was in wellington formation, about 40 ft below garber. Locs. 214-216 were in wellington, about 20-30 ft below garber. Geology by hart (1974).
