Alteration: Silicification
Deposit: Brecciated fault zone has rhyolite hanging wall and andesite footwall. Vein quartz in pods and clots along structure. Iron oxide staining, 2-3 inch band of mno with white calcite on west wall, silicified lens of wallrock in center. Rock is flooded with silica, jarosite, fine-grained pyrite, lamellar quartz-after-calcite
Deposit type: Epithermal vein, Comstock
Development: Most of the development work was done by mcelroy over several years and a small tonnage of gold ore was milled in a 2-stamp mill. In 1938, the claims were taken over by c.e. Wood and j.c. Horton. In 1939 they installed a 40-ton ball mill with leaching tanks, just belo W the upper tunnel level at 8300 ft.
Geology: Brecciated zones extend from this location to wild rose mine - also parallel structures, possibly on to SE to queen canyon.
