The cleft, located at 2810 m a.s.l. along the north ridge of Vorderer Tierberg near Zinggenlücke, was discovered in late summer 1951 by the "Strahlers" H. Streun and K. Fahner. The host rock is an irregular aplite vein inside a large lens of biotite gneiss embedded in Central Aare granite.

The most notable mineral of this cleft is raspberry red fluorite with octahedral crystals reaching 3.2 cm on edge.
