A mineralisation in the roof zone of the Visstind granite pluton and in the overlying migmatic gneisses, which contains many granite dykes.
The mineralisations were discovered in 1982-83 during prospecting for gold by BP Norge A/S Minerals and Norsk Hydro A/S. The NGU collected samples in 1990.
The mineralisations seem to occur in a fault zone containing several meters wide quartz breccia's with cavities between the fragments of the surrounding granite/granite dykes.
Three types of mineralisation occur:
1. Quartz veins with cavities in the middle, filled with galena, which also occurs in fractures (1-3 mm wide), in weakly seritized granite along cavities in the breccia.
2. The most common type: fine-grained arsenopyrite, galena and minor pyrite as semi-massive fracture fillings along and in massive quartz veins, occasionally also as veins in the granite.
3. fine-grained pyrite disseminations with varying amounts of galena along fractues surrounded by chlorite-altered granite. Locally transgressing into semi-massive pyrite lenses (1x5 cm long).
