Structure: Granodiorite Stock With Assoc. Faults, Fractures

Alteration: Silicification, Oxidation (?)

Deposit: Prior to 1926, gray copper corp. Shipped from these prospects 240 tons of ore containing 7.7% cu and 8 oz/ton Ag and $.82/ton au. The deposits are similar in character to the silver circle and rattler lodes. To the south within the granodiorite, several veins trend N 10-25 E, transverse to the contact. They are named the junction vein (extending S W for 2 miles to the ivy wilson group) and the old abe vein (extending for 3,500 feet and having a width of up to 40 ft. Or more) (schrader, 1935, p 33-4). The mammoth claims were located in 1896 by mr. Bourne of wells, nev. (schrader, 1912, p 103). The area is developed by the helen b. Smith tunnel which starts in granodiorite on the helen b. Smith patent. The tunnel trends N 62 W of the highland no. 5 claim and is 600 ft belo W the surface at this point. The tunnel encounters mineralized limestone at 1,205 ft. Mineral survey no. 4235 ; info.src : 1 pub lit veins

Deposit type: Skarn Cu
