Abandoned quarry on the eastern slope of Monte Gardellon, near Forcella Aurine pass.

Due to brown staining originated from alteration of pyrite, the use as a dimension stone of this greenschist of the Variscan metamorphic basement, mainly composed of albite porphyroblasts in a fine-grained groundmass of chlorite, actinolite, and epidote, has been abandoned.

Rock fissures are characterised by the presence of calcite crystals showing a vivid pink fluorecence under UV light.
