A basalt quarry. Some very large crystals of heulandite and chabazite, as well as large sprays of thomsonite, were recovered. Heulandite is the most common species.

The chabazite is interesting, as it is not found along the shore, from Ross Creek all the way west down to nearly Digby, but this part of the mountain represents a different lava flow than is available along the shore.

Habit: Simple trapezohedrons, sometimes slightly distorted.
Colour: White, brown.
Description: Crystals always have poor to very poor luster and are frequently etched or corroded.

'Chabazite var. Phacolite'
Habit: Double-limpet or double-cone shape.
Colour: White.
Description: Chabazite is sometimes found highly twinned progressing all the way to true rounded phacolite, with crystals reaching 6 cm in diameter.

Chabazite-Ca
Formula: (Ca,K2,Na2)2[Al2Si4O12]2 · 12H2O
Habit: Sharp simple rhombohedrons with little to no striations, heavily striated crystals, penetration twins, and multiple-twinned crystals progressing towards phacolite style.
Colour: Colorless, white.

Heulandite-Ca
Formula: (Ca,Na)5(Si27Al9)O72 · 26H2O
Habit: Sharp simple crystals, floater ball-like aggregates, and aggregates of tightly curved crystals.
Colour: Colorless, white, orange.
Description: Perhaps second in quality after the Rat's Nest claim, Idaho in North America. Thousands of excellent specimens have been found, especially with larger crystals or larger specimen sizes.

Formula: (Na/Ca/K)5-6[Al8-9 Si27-28 O72] · nH2O
Laumontite
Formula: CaAl2Si4O12 · 4H2O
Habit: Spherical aggregates up to about 1.0-1.5 cm in diameter.
Colour: White, deep-purple.
Description: Frequently found heavily included with iron minerals, giving a very dark purple color.

Lévyne-Ca
Formula: (Ca,Na2,K2)[Al2Si4O12] · 6H2O
Habit: UFOs and thick tabular crystals (never thin plates) with a hexagonal outline and frequently with reentrant angles. {0001} faces sometimes show triangles rotated 180 degrees, giving star shapes.
Colour: Sometimes collected colorless, but crystals quickly turn bright white. Also green (celadonite inclusions) or black/purple (goethite inclusions).
Description: Crystals found in druses and scattered individuals. Typically the crystals have a very high luster. They seem to be the last mineral to form, but yet are often included with celadonite or goethite. Some crystals exceed 1 cm in diameter making them very large for the species.

Habit: Radial masses and delicate needles.
Colour: Colorless, white, aggregates brown due to staining.

Habit: Fans and bowties, also large spherical aggregates. Coarse druses of crystals.
Colour: Beige, brown, white.

Habit: Very well crystalized lath-shaped crystals forming fans, bowties, wheels, and balls.
