A former underground Au-Ag-Be (trace) occurrence/mine located in the NE¼SW¼ sec. 11, T19N, R20W, G&SRM, on 4 claims (Gold Road, Lineroad, Billy Bryan, and the Railroad),northeastern part of the district, about 1½ miles (2.2 km) NE of the Tom Reed vein and about 1¼ miles NNE of Oatman, on private land. Discovered by Joe Jeneres about 1897. Rich ore was struck in 1900. Started in 1902 and closed in 1916. Reopened in 1922-1923 and overall from 1903 through 1949. Restarted during January, 1995. Previous Owners and operators include the Gold Road Mining & Explorations Company (1902); Needles Smelting and Refining Company (1911); US Smelting, Refining, and Mining Company; Goldfield Great Bend Mining Company; Jack Shank; J.D. Spargo; E. Templin; F. Shasson; and, D.B. Harper. Owned & operated by Addwest Minerals, Incorporated (100%), Arizona (1992-1996); and by Arava Resources (Sub of Mueller Industries) (100%) (1992-1996). Owned & operated by U.V. Industries, Utah. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 150; USGS model code: 25c; Deposit model name: Epithermal vein, Comstock; Mark3 model number: 16), hosted in trachyte, andesite and latite. Associated rocks include Pliocene rhyolite, trachyte, and andesite. Local rocks include Middle Miocene to Oligocene volcanic rocks.

The Gold Road vein strikes about N50W and dips 80-85NE and occupies a fault zone in latite. A NNW to WNW-trending vein and fault system is in Tertiary volcanic rocks. The ore body is a stringer lode that strikes N50W and dips 80NE at a width of 30.48 meters and a length of 2,011.63 meters. The depth-to-bottom is 213.36 meters. The outcrop is prominent, in places nearly 100 feet wide. Most vein filling occurs in 2 zones, termed the North and South veins, separated by largely barren latite with minor stringers of quartz. There are 3 ore bodies: #1 shaft area, Sharp ore body, and the Rice ore body. Controls for ore emplacement include gold-bearing rhyolite dikes as finely disseminated gold. The ore is associated with present water flow courses, and occurs on the hanging wall of the vein. Sheeting of andesite strikes N40W and dips 90. Latite occurs to the north of the vein, while to the south both latite and andesite can be found.

The ore is enriched by oblique stringers that join at acute angles from the NW, on the hanging wall side of the vein. Ore is found in rhyolite dikes as finely disseminated gold. The ore is associated with present water flow courses, and occurs on the hanging wall of the vein. Most ore mined has come from 3 shoots on the north strand of the vein. The largest shoot being 900 feet long, 22 feet wide, down to the 700 foot level. Most of the ore was from 2 to 10 feet wide.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 5,608.32 meters and an overall depth of 274.32 meters, and comprised of 4 shafts, including the #1 shaft and the Line Road tunnel. This latter working prospected the vein below the outcrops for some 3,000 feet (1,000 meters) horizontally but found no additional commercial grade ore. The principal area of stoping is around No. 1 and No. 3 shafts, on the Gold Road and Line Road claims.

Production was $6,654,050 in gold to the end of 1923 (period values).
Production statistics: Year: 1995: 15,412 Troy ounces (479,367 grams) Au; ore milled (@0.132 ounce/short ton at 130,500 short tons ore for the year. Year: 1996: 40,469 Troy ounces (1,258,727 grams); ore milled (@0.303 ounce/short ton at 140,400 short tons/year. Year: 1997: (1st. quarter, 1997): 10,755 Troy ounces (334,518 grams) Au; ore milled (@0.255 ounce/short ton at 44,600 short tons of ore.

Reserves and resources: In-situ: estimate year = 1996: Demonstrated = 470,000 metric tons of ore; Total resources = 470,000 metric tons of ore at 10.4 grams Au/metric ton. Estimate year = 1996: Inferred = 1,960,000 metric tons of ore; Total resources 1,960,000 metric tons of ore at 12.2 grams/metric ton. Estimate year = 1997: Demonstrated = 160,966 metric tons of ore at 12.57 grams/metric ton.
