The working known as Lady Gwendolen, marked a re-start of the old Wheal Reeth Mine in in 1926.
The Lady Gwendolen shaft was sunk to a depth of some 160 feet below adit (70 feet.
In 1933 the mine was taken over by a company known as Wheal Reeth Tin Ltd and the former Wheal Reeth name was resurrected.
Underground operation continued until 1939, with treatment of dump material continuing until 1943.
