Old silver mines (worked for silver-bearing galena) at Akersberget (formerly a small cliff) just east of Gamle Aker Church close to Maridalsveien 22. It is believed to be one of the oldest mines in Norway. Historia Norvegiae, a small Norwegian history written in Latin in 1170s, refers to a mine in Oslo, called "Dragehullene" ("The dragon pits"), which is rich in silver.
