A former Cu-Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in the S½ sec. 22 & in sec. 27, T23N, R18W, G&SRM, 3.6 km (2.3 miles) WSW of Mineral Park, about 3 miles S of Chloride, about 2.4 miles WNW of Turquoise Mountain, on Bureau of Land Management administered land and/or private land. Previous owners and operators include El Paso Natural Gas; C.G. Patterson; C.F. Weeks and M.B. Lawson; Lewis-Mathis Company; Emerald Isle Copper Company; E.E. Campbell; H.J. Olson; and, Warren Overholze. Owned by the El Paso Mining and Milling (1973) and by Arimetco International, Incorporated (1994-). Operated 1943 to 1948. The mine suspended operations 9-93 and was on care and maintenance in 1995. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Pliocene conglomerate and alluvium. The ore body is irregular lenses and pods that strikes N30E and dips 90 at a width of 3.66 meters. Mineralization is associated with a Late Cretaceous porphyry intrusion. This deposit has been described as both a primary vein-type deposit or a secondary weathering solution deposited in Quaternary alluvium. Can be described as blanket deposits in a granite porphyry and in alluvium. Precambrian schistosity strikes N30ºE. Veins, fissures and dikes strike NW to NNW regionally. Host rock is the Ithaca Peak granite. Local rocks include Quaternary surficial deposits, undivided
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 426.72 meters and an overall depth of 27.43 meters. Originally worked by 2 shafts at least one of which has been consumed by the open pit from which most of the ore was mined. Later operated as a heap leach operation.
