Arizona Bureau of Mines file data.
A Ag-Au-Pb-Zn-Cu-W-Mo-Ba mining area located in T.14-15S., R.4W. in the Gunsight Hills, western Pima County.
Mineralization is spotty base metal mineralization and local tungsten, oxidized and enriched locally with silver and gold, in quartz, calcite and barite veins and lenses in fault and fissure zones cutting Laramide granitic intrusive.
Workings include numerous, generally small and shallow tunnels, shafts, and pits. Prospected and worked sporadically since the early 1870's. Estimated and reported production would be over 15,000 tons of ore containing about 776 tons of lead, 100,600 oz. of silver, 400 oz. of gold and minor copper. Only a few tons of scheelite ore were produced.
