Köppen climate type:
Structure: Wichita Mountains Lugert Granite Intrusive, With Stoped Gabbro Xenolith
Tectonics: Aulacogen
Deposit: Ryan (1936) got his information from john brunker. Ryan (1936, sheet kr-26) and hale (1981b, p. 312, 318, loc. 28) are original references. Polk (1948, p. 16, map) and merritt (1958, p. 11, map) discuss the geology of the area and locate the pits. The section lines are skewed westward on the n. Part of sec. 6 and therefore many of the previous locations are slightly off.
Development: Mr. Harvey was grubstaked by frank lugert.
Geology: The lugert granite intruded the reformatory granite and picked up part of a gabbro xenolith that was previously picked up by the reformatory granite. Probably hydrothermal veins of the reformatory and lugert granites intruded into the gabbro xenolith, and possibly pyrite and other minerals were formed in the veins. Polk (1948) and merritt (1958) discuss geology.
Rock formation(s): Lugert Granite Porphyry
Raggedy Mountain Gabbro Group
Ore(s): Hydrothermal Veins
