Locality at a farm named Våland.

The NGU database describes a deposit contain gold-bearing sulphide ore. The main minerals were pyrite, chalcopyrite and chalcopyrite.

The report doesn't mention when the mine was in operation, but it must have been long ago. Also not mentioned is what has been done with the ore.

The mine was an 8 m deep hole straight into the ground, measuring 3x4 m.

According to an old map, which named this mine Våland 5, there have been several other prospects.
