An excerpt from Pellegrin referenced below:

"In the Santa Ritas, near Patagonia, J. C. Holmes has a valuable showing of vanadium minerals on several mining claims. Both vanadinite and descloizite occur with wulfenite and lead carbonate in porphyry country rock, as well as in fracture planes in the quartz vein filling. Experiments in concentrating the ore on a small scale on the ground are being carried on. The recovery of the minerals from the gangue should offer no difficulties, but their separation from each other - the molybdenum mineral from those of vanadium - is probably impossible, on account of their practically equal specific gravities."
