Old Fe/Bi-mine located at the eastern shore of Norsjø lake at Liagrenda.
The Bi ore is hosted by granitic pegmatite dykes in amphibolite (Sandstad et al., 2012).
The mining area is located on a steep slope on the north-east side of the lake Norsjø about 300 m from the road “Liagrendvegen” in the Liagrend area. Relatively extensive experimental operation was carried out in the period 1913-16. In the mining area we find a mine. This mine is about 40 m long. About 25 m higher in the terrain than the entrance of the mine, we find two areas in the surface where the ore minerals have been mined. The first one is straight above the mine. Here we find an area about 20 m long in the E-W direction. Approx. 25 m south of this again there is a 15 m long and 10-15 m high area. Between the mine and the other areas mentioned above there are mainly dumps from the mining. Some parts of the dumps are rather rich of good samples of bismuth. The richest ore minerals, mainly magnetite and bismuth, appear to occur in the contact zone between the pegmatite and the side rocks.
