Köppen climate type:
A Cu-Ag-Pb-Au-Fe (Bi) mine in a group located in the West & South ½ sec. 16, SW ¼ sec. 15 and North ½ sec. 21, T.14S., R.27E. Owned at times, or in part, by the Consolidated Copper Co., Mascot Copper Co., Southwest Metals Co., Tout, Arivaca (Aztec) Mining Co.
Mineralization in the group is magnetite with base metal sulfides associated with epidote and other skarn minerals in irregular veins, massive bunches, and disseminations in badly fractured and faulted blocks of pyrometamorphosed PAleozoic limestone and Cretaceous shales and volcanics along, or close to, Laramide granitic intrusives and associated with dikes ranging from rhyolites to basalts.
Workings are extensive from long tunnels and shafts. Some 60,000 tons of ore were produced from the group intermittently from the early 1910's to the mid-1950's.
