A former small underground Cu-Zn-Ag-W-Pb-Au-Mo-Bi-Be mine located in East-central sec. 26, T.15S., R.22E, 5.5 miles NNW of Dragoon; on SE edge of the town of Johnson, 2 miles NE of the Primrose Mine, on private land. Produced 1882-1952. Owned in part, or at times, by the Black Prince Copper Co., Arizona Consolidated Mining Co., Arizona United Mining Co., Arizona United Development Co., and the Coronado Copper & Zinc Co.

Mineralization is sulfides in pyrometasomatic mantos and chimneys in garnetized, silicated and marmolized, faulted and fissured Cambrian Middle Member Abrigo Limestone. Ore control was faults cutting favorable beds, axes of shallow anticlines. The ore zone is 457.2 meters long, 121.92 meters wide, 91.44 meters depth to top, 274.32 meters depth to bottom, 12.19 meters thick, striking N50W, dipping 40NE, with a plunge of S600-85E 1-25. Assay data: 4-4.5% Cu, 0.5-0.75% oz/t Ag, unknown % Zn (pre-1940); 1.5-3% Cu, 5-10% Zn, 0.3 oz/t Ag to 0.1% W (post-1940).

Another ore body was 800 by 200-400 by 15-40 feet, perpendicular to bedding, localized along the axis of shallow anticline trending N10W. The clearest association of ore with a fold is where the main manto ore body lies along an anticlinal flexure between the 700 and 1300 levels. The main manto fold dies out a short distance above the 700 level but the ore body continues with the same trend almost to the surface.

Workings include extensive shaft workings. Workings total 6,4000 meters in length and 121.92 meters deep. The workings are comprised of drifts, crosscuts, stopes, winzes, and extensive shaft workings. A total of at least 600,000 tons of ore was produced from the early 1880's to recent times.

Other ore in minable grade was discovered but construction costs were prohibitive. Favorable beds on the hanging wall side of the Republic Fault have been thoroughly explored.
