Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

Translated by Perplexity.ai from NGU report 2619:

The Brattfjell mineralization is located in a steep mountain slope and has been investigated at two locations with a distance of 750m, probably at the same level, but it is unclear if the mineralization is continuous between the two points. Like the Storfjellet occurrence, it occurs in garnet mica schist at the edge of the amphibole-biotite-antigorite schist unit. Magnetite and copper ore are enriched in parallel bands in an alternation of mica schist (+-garnet), biotite-rich schist, chlorite schist, and amphibole-rich schist. The ore zone is up to 2m thick. The main adit: At UTM 489230 7471170, a 7m long adit has been driven to the west (the tip material has collapsed). About halfway in, there is a ca. 6m deep inclined shaft (filled with water). The schist is folded (axis 230/40) and the adit is driven in a fold bend. The foliation is 160/45, but varies due to folding. The total thickness of the mineralized zone is about 2m where semi-massive to massive, concordant pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite bands of 2-40 cm thickness occur. The sulfide bands occur in highly variable, banded schist; as bands in two-mica schist (sample 05), in quartz-rich mica schist (03), in biotite-rich schist (05), and amphibolite. 02 is a grab sample from massive pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite ore.
