Inactive basalt quarry with outcrops of hydrothermalites, sandstone and limestone. Mineralizations mostly occur in calcite and quartz veins. Hydrothermalite blocks can be also found in the nearby stream bed.

"Rio delle Marne is a short creek which is very close tho the village of Ghiare, in the Berceto municipality, but the creek, which flows along the opposite side of the Taro river valley, is totally in the municipality of Valmozzola. That is the reason why many collectors wrongly label the locality as 'Rio delle Marne, Ghiare di Berceto, Parma'. The right one is the Mindat locality."
