Generic indication for the marble quarries located near Torano village, at various heights above sea level, in the Pescina-Boccanaglia quarrying basin and/or in the Torano quarrying basin.

Sometimes the name Torano quarries is used or has been used for the Torano quarrying basin in general, other times instead of Pratazzolo(Pulcinacchia) and/or Calacata and/or Pescina A quarries, located in the Pescina-Boccanaglia basin, or also for the Crestola quarrying area, i.e. the Crestola, Ruggetta and Pescina B quarries, and/or the Crestola Bassa quarrying area, located in the Torano quarrying basin.

The minerals are found in marble into its fractures and mineralized leptoclases.
