A report from the Direktoratet av Mineralforvaltning (Nixon 1969) describes a minor exploration shaft. The name was written as "Lomtjern", but that is not the way it is spelled on modern maps.

A core drill resulted in 1,5 m of pure ore at a depth of 12 m.

The locality is supposed to be about 1,4 km SSE of a sand pit and rock quarry along the road to Gautestad.

This figure is inaccurate. The Lomstjønn lake is only 840 m SSSE of the place where one is supposed to go into the woods. The locality is then expected to be at a spot about 875 m SSE of the road.

But further map study suggests that the author has made a mistake with the names of the lake.

He has made a map that doesn't correspond with the actual situation.

At the 2018 map the Lomstjønn is all but dried up and has a shape not corresponding with the drawings.

What he calls Langtjern corresponds better with the Lomstjønn with an unnamed little lake to the west.

And then the altitude map clearly shows a feature that is the result of mining activity.
