In the collection of the Evje og Hornnes geomuseum Fennefoss there are 4 samples from this otherwise unknown feldspar quarry.
The name is given after the nearest farm.
According to Anton Haugland (pers. com. 2022), this quarry was operated by Theodor Gautestad. Apart from this quarry, there are at least 3 more prospects in the same area. Pegmatite exposures are plentiful throughout the entire area.
Access to this quarry might be difficult, as there don't seem to be any identifiable tracks leading into that direction.
The exposures in the quarry are of little interest due to moos/algea/lychen covering most of the rock.
Noteworthy is the presence of pyrrhotite and pyrite in this locality. The clearly magnetic pyrrhotite occurs as massive veins/accumulations in quartz, but the relationship of this quartz with the pegmatite has yet to be established.
Pyrite has been observed as ca. 2 mm cubic crystals in a cavity in the quartz.
Overall, the potential for interesting accessory minerals seems to be low.
