Find, 1962; 4 kg
A single stone consisting of ~10 fragments was recovered while Olavi Vaija was looking over some ore boulders near Antilla, Valkeala. Inspections reveal indistinct chondrules within a largely equilibrated matrix which has experienced some internal rusting. Compositionally, bulk iron contents (21.22 wt%), equilibrated olivine (Fa24) and low Ca-orthopyroxene ('hypersthene') are characteristic of the L-chondrite geochemical group. Mineralogically the meteorite consists primarily of dominant olivine along with pyroxene and minor troilite and Fe-Ni metal. Accessory chromite and isocubanite have also been reported.
The main mass has been held at the University of Helsinki.
