Six small conformable bodies of metamorphosed ultramafic rock are mapped within the Middletown Formation in SE Haddam, within 1 km of the border with Chester and just west of the state Route 82 connector between state Routes 9 and 154. According to Lundgren (1963), they consist mostly of green amphibole presumed to be actinolite, with lesser quantities of "hypersthene" (enstatite), olivine, magnetite-ilmenite, green spinel, plagioclase, chlorite and traces of annite, talc and serpentine. Coordinates are for the largest mass, which is a few hundred feet long and underlies a small hill, with enstatite crystals weathered out in relief.
