Ordinary chondrite, brecciated (L4,br)
Find,1923; 3.63 kg
A single broken stone, consisting of two fitting fragments, was recognized by Harvey Nininger as a meteorite in 1938. Total iron (21.5 wt%) and olivine (Fa25) and pyroxene ('hypersthene') indicated an L chondrite. Undulatory extinction of olivine and the presence of polycrystalline kamacite have been attributed to moderate-strong shock. Significant weathering is also reported. A cosmic ray exposure age of 14 Ma has been reported.
The main mass has been with Arizona State University (Tempe) for several decades [1.7 kg in 2016].
