Structure: Last Chance Fault Nw Trending Shear Zone

Alteration: Propylitization

Deposit: The mine is developed along quartz veins and replacements along a shear zone in close proximity to an andesite dike. Sulfide occur in the quartz and in breccia. In 1920 the last chance property was acquired by a group from fresno, calif. In 1935 the property was taken over by detroit interests. From 1906 to 1928 it was reported to have had 1000 tons of ore shipped from the property averaging 40 oz/ton Ag and 8% pb. The last chance mine is developed by an 830 ft. Deep. Three mineralized veins averaging 4 feet in width are exposed in the tunnel. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ

Deposit type: Low-sulfide Au-quartz vein

Development: A watchperson for owner, frank strode, was on the premises in 1984, also keeps an eye on the upper mines.

Geology: Mineralization is confined to the walls of a hornblende-andesite dike. Veins in a mangano-calcite gangue.

Ore(s): Shear Zone, Dike Contact
