There are several small pits and prospects in a 1,5 km long NNW trending zone from Ytraland towards Kvalavåg. Greis (1957) lists 34 prospects, part of a larger prospecting survey on Karmøy between 1885 and 1910. The sulphide occurences are found in an up to 50m wide shear zone, which consist of chalkopyrite and pyrite in schistose, chlorite rich and partly silisified metagabbro.
This prospect consist of a 8x4m pit with a 50m3 dump nearby. The workings follow two narrow (20-40cm) sulphide bearing greenshist horizons.
